Tactile Indicator Tiles are recognised throughout the world as the most efficient method of providing ground surface indicators for the orientation of people with visual impairment. They provide both directional and hazard warnings and are used internally and externally in situations such as – Stairways; Escalators and Ramps; Kerbing and Step Ramps; Road Crossings; Vehicle Pick-up areas; Railway Platforms; Passenger Wharves; Overhead hazards and changes of direction in public areas.

   Guardian Tactiles are manufactured from a robust, durable, UV stabilized slip resistant  
   polyurethane that is ideal for Australia’s harsh conditions. The unique ‘peel & bond’ 
   installation system incorporates Guardian’s revolutionary adhesive compound, providing a 
   simple, rapid and cost effective process, with minimal disruption to traffic – the tiles can be
   walked on immediately after installation.

   Luminance Contrast – is preferred to colour contrast alone as it highlights the difference 
   in the light/dark properties of two adjacent surfaces rather than just their colours.

   Installation: The peel & bond nature means a no mess installation and no clean up 
   required.

   Note: External application requires Guardian primed surface.

CERAMIC TACTILE TILES

The Ceramic Range of Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSI) is the most economical product currently available in the market. It comes in two colours to meet the standard requirement of Luminance contrast as required by AS/NZS 1428.4.

Lay the Ceramic Tactile just like any normal tile units. Tile thickness is 10mm and it is best to leave 13-15mm rebate in freshly laid concrete to accommodate glue and cement. Also leave 2-3mm gap for grouting around the tiles.
