Birrus Project These Australian made mats combine attractive aluminium extrusion with a stunning selection of carpet and textured tread inserts. They have been installed in many high profile and heavy traffic areas and have proved to be second to none in their longevity and stylish good looks.

Mats may be shaped to suit virtually any angled or circular area. A timber template of the matwell may be required to ensure a good fit.

ULTRAMAT™

Constructed from alternate treads of aluminium and carpet running across the doorway. The carpet treads are securely held within extruded retaining sections which are lightly furrowed on the exposed surface to produce a non-skid surface.

DURAMAT™

The ribbed rubber scraping bars set between aluminium treads ensure maximum durability, ideal for wheeled traffic at airports, shopping/distribution centres, sporting and educational facilities. (suitable for interior or sheltered outdoor use)

DURAGRIT™

These abrasive grit inserts are a hard wearing non-slip tread insert developed for internal and external environments where floor surfaces may otherwise prove hazardous. This unique product provides safe footing in high traffic areas exposed to water or slippery conditions, especially ramped walkways.

COCAMAT™

Cocamat with Coir inserts offers an efficient cleaning action due to the STEPPED profile. Coir fibres stand 10mm above the aluminium treads penetrating the crevices of shoe soles, removing loose dirt and moisture.
Consideration should be given to the overall height of COCAMAT to ensure hinged doors have sufficient clearance (internal use only).

MATADOR MAT

Heavy duty open construction - consisting of corrugated rubber strips, interspersed with aluminium slats, riveted to each strip, and held together with stainless steel retaining wires. Matador is highly suited for areas of predominantly low-heeled traffic, such as schools, sporting complexes, ski resorts, military and agricultural facilities.

SLIMLINE MATS

All BIRRUS mats with the exception of the Matador Mat can be made as a SLIMLINE MAT (10mm depth only) using a ‘slotted PVC section’ between the aluminium scraper bars. These Slimline mats can then be removed and rolled up to allow for cleaning of recess base.

DURAGLO MATS

The Duraglo mat has a photo-luminescent insert and is designed to illuminate when placed at entry/exit points in total darkness. Twin photo-luminescent strips are imbedded into ribbed rubber tread.

Maintenance

MAINTENANCE

Easy to maintain. Regular cleaning will remove most soiling.

Vacuum clean matting regularly and if required spot clean carpet inserts with dry shampoo, or steam clean as required.
Rubber and Vinyl inserts can be restored by wiping over with a damp mop, using a multi-purpose detergent. For abrasive grit, the best method is a hot water hose or still brush. Do NOT use mops.
Coir Inserts should be vacuumed regularly to remove dirt, grit and loose fibres which collect in the treads.

DIRECTION OF TRAVEL

‘X’ dimension refers to the direction of travel across the mat.
‘Y’ dimension refers to the direction of the matting treads which run across the width of the doorway.

WARRANTY
The BIRRUS Matting System is covered with a 5 year warranty against defect in materials and workmanship. Conditions apply.
